By helping pay for college, we empower the brightest individuals to become who they were always destined to be.
For several years, the D’Addario Foundation has funded awards at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA including the D’Addario Guitar Scholarship and Evans Drumhead Scholarship. Through our Girls In Music Initiative, these awards have evolved into the Women in Guitar and Women in Drums scholarships to encourage more females to pursue historically under-represented fields. We're thrilled to share this year's winners:
“We are proud to partner with the D’Addario Foundation and their ongoing support of the D’Addario Women in Guitar Scholarship and new Women in Drums Scholarship at Musicians Institute,” says Beth Marlis, Musicians Institute vice president. “These scholarships are powerful acknowledgments and recognition of the talents of deserving young women musicians at the college level. This kind of opportunity is truly transformative, empowering, and encouraging for young artists by providing both visibility and tangible financial support to excel in their music studies. We applaud the vision and leadership of D’Addario in supporting the next generation of female artists with the tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry.”
Each scholarship is $1,500 and awarded annually to celebrate and provide financial support for the education of talented, newly enrolling female-identifying students.
